Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using HumanMap ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use and to Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the "Apple EULA"), which applies to your license to use the App. If these Terms and the Apple EULA conflict, the Apple EULA governs your license. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

What HumanMap Does

HumanMap is a private, on-device memory of the people you meet. You capture people by speaking or typing, and the App uses on-device intelligence to structure, connect, and help you recall them in a night-sky visualization. Everything you record stays on your iPhone.

Your Responsibility When Recording Other People

HumanMap lets you keep private notes about people you choose to record. You are solely responsible for the information you capture and for how you use it, and for complying with any applicable laws in your jurisdiction (including privacy, data-protection, and recording laws). Treat the App like a private journal. Do not use it to harass, profile, or harm anyone, or for any unlawful purpose. All of your notes remain on your device and are never shared by us.

On-Device AI Content

HumanMap uses on-device AI to transcribe your voice, extract details, and match and resurface people. AI-generated content — including transcriptions, extracted descriptions, and match explanations — may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. Always verify anything important yourself. We make no representation that AI output is accurate or fit for any purpose.

License and Acceptable Use

We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the Apple EULA. You agree not to copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell, or attempt to extract the App's source, and not to use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of Apple's terms.

Subscriptions and Billing

• HumanMap is free to download and use, including capturing people (up to a generous free limit), the night sky, the Naming, and basic search. "Pro" unlocks unlimited people, natural-language search, smart resurfacing, the ambient sound layer, and the Daylight theme.
• Pro is available as an auto-renewing subscription — $2.99 / month (no free trial) or $19.99 / year (with a 7-day free trial) — and as a one-time lifetime purchase of $39.99 (non-consumable), all via Apple In-App Purchase. Final pricing is shown in the App before purchase and may vary by region.
• Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, or at the end of the free trial period for the annual trial.
• A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
• Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription. The lifetime purchase is a one-time, non-consumable purchase and does not auto-renew.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your Apple Account settings (Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions). Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription. You can also restore a previous purchase from within the App.
• Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with the App Store's terms; we do not process payments or issue refunds directly.

Your Content

The people you capture, your voice notes, and everything the App derives from them stay on your device. You are responsible for your own content. We claim no ownership of it and do not access it.

Intellectual Property

The App, its design, branding (including the HumanMap name and mark), and underlying technology are owned by the developer and protected by applicable laws. These Terms grant you no rights to them except the limited license above.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App, its transcriptions, its AI-derived content, or its suggestions are accurate, complete, reliable, or error-free.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data or damages arising from or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App or your reliance on its content. Your sole remedy for dissatisfaction is to stop using the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes

We may update the App or these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates (Emirate of Dubai), without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and subject to the mandatory consumer-protection rights of your country of residence. This does not affect any rights granted to you, or obligations imposed on Apple, under the Apple EULA.
