Privacy Policy — Before You Go

This Privacy Policy explains how Before You Go ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the Before You Go iOS app. The App is built to be private by design: it runs entirely on your device, with no account and no servers operated by us.

We do not collect your personal data. Before You Go has no account, login, or sign-up. Your checklists, the places and times you set for reminders, and your settings stay only on your device.

• No personal information — we do not ask for your name, email, or phone number.
• No analytics or tracking — the App contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
• Nothing leaves your device — your locations, calendar details, and lists are processed on your device and are never transmitted to us.

If you turn on a location-based reminder, the App asks iOS to watch a place you choose (for example your home or a hotel) so it can remind you with the right checklist as you leave. This works entirely through the operating system on your device:

• Your location is used only to trigger the reminders you set up. It is never stored by us and never transmitted off your device.
• Location-based reminders are optional. You are asked for location permission only when you enable one, and you can turn it off anytime in iOS Settings.

If you link a checklist to a calendar event, the App reads that event's time (and, where available, its location) on your device to work out when to remind you. Calendar information is used only for this purpose, stays on your device, and is never sent to us.

Reminders are delivered as local notifications, and the departure countdown is shown as a Live Activity on your lock screen. These are scheduled and rendered on your device. We do not operate a push-notification server.

Before You Go offers an optional "Pro" subscription and a lifetime purchase through Apple In-App Purchase. Payments are processed by Apple — we never see or store your card details. We use RevenueCat, a third-party subscription-management service, to verify and manage your purchase. To do this, RevenueCat processes a randomly generated, pseudonymous app user identifier, your purchase and receipt information, and basic device/app information. This is used only to deliver and restore your purchase, not to identify you personally.

Your checklists, triggers, and settings are stored locally on your device and protected by your device's built-in security. Because the data stays on your device, deleting the App removes it. We hold no copy of it.

• Location (optional) — requested only if you set a location-based reminder, so the App can alert you as you leave a place. "Always" access is requested only if you want reminders to fire in the background.
• Calendar (optional) — requested only if you link a checklist to a calendar event.
• Notifications (optional) — requested so the App can deliver your reminders on time.

Before You Go does not request access to your photos, contacts, microphone, or camera.

• Apple — App Store distribution, In‑App Purchase payments, and on‑device location, calendar, and notification services. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
• RevenueCat — subscription management as described above. Governed by RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Before You Go is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. Because the App collects no personal data, it presents minimal privacy risk to users of any age.

Privacy laws such as the EU GDPR, the UAE Personal Data Protection Law, and the California CCPA give you rights over your personal data. Because Before You Go does not collect or hold your personal data, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete. You remain in full control of your on‑device data and can remove it at any time by deleting the App. For subscription data held by Apple or RevenueCat, please refer to their respective policies.

We may update this Policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
