Privacy Policy — Lustre

No data collectedApp Store subscriptions
Effective: Jun 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Lustre ("the App", "we", "our", or "us") handles information when you use the Lustre iOS app. Lustre is built to be private by design: your jewelry, watches, precious metals, and the photos of them are stored entirely on your device, with no account and no servers operated by us.

What We Collect

We do not collect your personal data. Lustre has no account, login, or sign-up. The pieces you add, their photos and details, your collection's valuation, and your settings stay only on your device.

  • No personal information — we do not ask for your name, email, phone number, or location.
  • No analytics or tracking — the App contains no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.
  • Your photos never leave your device — the pictures you take or import are stored and processed on your device and are never uploaded to us or anyone else.

Camera, Photos, and On-Device Image Cleanup

Lustre uses your camera and photo library so you can add pictures of your pieces. This works only on your device:

  • Capturing & importing — photos you take or choose are saved with the piece on your device. They are never copied off the device by us.
  • Background cleanup — the optional one-tap "Clean background" lifts a piece off its background using Apple's on-device Vision framework. This processing is performed by the operating system on your device; no image is sent anywhere. Your original photo is always kept.

Live Metal Valuation

To estimate what your collection is worth, Lustre fetches current spot prices for gold, silver, and platinum from a third-party market-data provider (gold-api.com). These requests are anonymous: they ask only for public market prices and send no information about you, your collection, or your device. The valuation itself is calculated on your device. Estimates reflect metal content only and are provided for your reference — they are not an appraisal or financial advice.

Subscriptions and Billing

Lustre offers an optional "Lustre Pro" subscription and a lifetime purchase through Apple In-App Purchase. Payments are processed by Apple — we never see or store your card details. We use RevenueCat, a third-party subscription-management service, to verify and manage your purchase. To do this, RevenueCat processes a randomly generated, pseudonymous app user identifier, your purchase and receipt information, and basic device/app information. This is used only to deliver and restore your purchase, not to identify you personally.

Data Storage and Security

Your pieces, their photos and details, and your settings are stored locally on your device and protected by your device's built-in security. Because this data stays on your device, deleting the App removes it. We hold no copy of it.

Exporting and Deleting Your Data

You are always in control of your data:

  • Export — at any time you can export your collection from Settings → Export My Data (available to all users, free or Pro) and share it via the iOS share sheet.
  • Delete — you can delete any piece in the App, or remove all of your data at once by deleting the App from your device.

Because Lustre does not collect or hold your personal data on any server, there is nothing for us to access, correct, or delete on your behalf. For subscription data held by Apple or RevenueCat, please refer to their respective policies.

Permissions

  • Camera (optional) — requested only when you choose to photograph a piece.
  • Photos (optional) — requested only when you add a piece's image from your library.

Lustre does not request access to your location, microphone, or contacts.

Third‑Party Services

  • Apple — App Store distribution, In‑App Purchase payments, and on‑device Vision image processing. Governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
  • gold-api.com — anonymous spot-metal price data, as described above. No personal data is sent.
  • RevenueCat — subscription management as described above. Governed by RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising.

Children's Privacy

Lustre is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them. Because the App collects no personal data, it presents minimal privacy risk to users of any age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new effective date.
