Frequently asked questions

Do my photos or pieces ever leave my device?

No. Lustre runs entirely on your device — there is no account and no server. Your photos and the details of your pieces are stored only on your iPhone and are never uploaded.

How does the live valuation work?

Lustre fetches current spot prices for gold, silver, and platinum from a public market-data provider and applies them to the weights and purity you enter to estimate metal value. Those price requests are anonymous and send no information about you or your collection. The figure is an estimate of metal content for reference only — not an appraisal or financial advice.

What does the background cleanup do?

When you add a photo, Lustre can lift the piece off its background using Apple's on-device Vision framework and place it on a soft studio backdrop, so your vault looks like a catalog. It happens on your device, the original photo is always kept, and it is optional.

What is included in Lustre Pro?

Pro unlocks unlimited pieces, the valuation and analytics tab, and one-tap background cleanup. It is available monthly ($4.99/mo), annually ($29.99/yr with a 7-day free trial), or as a one-time lifetime purchase ($79.99).

How do I restore a purchase or cancel my subscription?

Use Settings → Restore Purchases inside the app to restore a previous purchase. To cancel a subscription, go to Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.

Can I export my collection?

Yes. Go to Settings → Export My Data to export your collection and share it via the iOS share sheet. Export is available to everyone, free or Pro.

Does Lustre support Arabic?

Yes — Lustre is fully localized in English and Arabic with complete right-to-left support, including Arabic-Indic numerals and locale-correct currency formatting.
